About Carol Lynn Coronios

Carol Lynn Coronios A photograph is visual emotion, running the gamut from stark images of horror—to ‘snapshots in time’ commemorating special moments—to pieces that draw you into their world as if they were magnetized. These are the photographs that evoke a gasp, a “WOW!” or an “awwwww.”

I consider myself a visual historian. Whether taking photographs of you and your horse, an old barn, or a misty sunrise, I am preserving history. Not just for you, or that barn, or that sunrise - but for the memories each regenerates in others. Seeing (or hearing about) their reactions as they relive an experience or emotion—whether remembered or vicarious—makes my spirit sing.

I research and provide background information if such is appropriate for a photograph. This isn't necessary, but as a teacher and lover of culture and history, I feel it adds interest.

My education has been experimental, refined by workshops with several world-renowned photographers. Learning is ongoing—always tempting me to delve into deeper corners, to stretch for another star, to seek a wider comfort zone. I have used the camera as an integral part of teaching riding and self-critique—the left-brain part—and for the pure pleasure of focusing on odd bits and pieces of the world around me—the right-brain part.

My photographs have received international awards.
•‘First Kiss’: third place, The Equine Image international photography competition, Craig, Colorado
•‘One More Dead Balloon’: awarded Merit, Professional Photographers Association International Print Competition
•‘Dusty Morning Pedicure’: first place in Open Division, Syracuse Invitational Equine Art Competition.

I invite you to look through the lens with me – and I hope you enjoy what you see.
