Artist's Description
I am standing at the bottom of the 'sundial' tower, with my back to the structure. The photograph is black and white (well, OK, shades of gray) because is was a gray, rainy day.
This amazing structure is a cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge for bicycles and pedestrians which forms a large sundial and spans the Sacramento River in Redding, California. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, it was completed in 2004 at a cost of $23,500,000.

About Carol Lynn Coronios
A photograph is visual emotion, running the gamut from stark images of horror—to ‘snapshots in time’ commemorating special moments—to pieces that draw you into their world as if they were magnetized. Seeing (or hearing about) their reactions as they relive an experience or emotion—whether remembered or vicarious—makes my spirit sing. I research and provide background information if such is appropriate for a...

Thank you, Mona! It's an amazing bridge, although I'm not in favor of the 'glass' walkway. VERY slippery when wet - almost got wiped out by a cyclist who DID wipe out. He and his bike almost got me!
