Artist's Description
This is one of my (growing) collection of old silos. Our family farms - such a vital resource for our food, health, and culture - are diminishing daily. My aim is to keep them in our minds and hearts.
Upstate New York is an unforgiving climate in which to pursue the rural lifestyle, yet this has been a main part of the economy for years.
Companion pieces: Silo Herkimer NY; Silo Hamel IL; and Elegy to Family Farms, a composite of all three of these silos.

A photograph is visual emotion, running the gamut from stark images of horror—to ‘snapshots in time’ commemorating special moments—to pieces that draw you into their world as if they were magnetized.
