Artist's Description
Culloden was a 1745 battle between Scottish Jacobites led by Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Loyalists - the last pitched battle fought on English ground. The Scots failed in their attempt to restore the throne to the House of Stuarts; the House of Hanover remained in control.
