Description
A young woman stands holding her Lipizzan stallion as they await their turn in a dressage competition. She is dressed formally, in white gloves and top hat, and her horse wears a bridle traditional to Lipizzaners. This differs from the plainer bridles worn by other breeds in that there is brass decoration on the cavesson and cheekpieces, the rings on the bradoon (small snaffle bit) are also brass, and the shank of the curb is curved.
Lipizzaner horses gained worldwide popularity as "The Dancing White Stallions of Vienna." They are small and compact in comparison to the majority of warmblood breeds popular in dressage and hunter/jumper disciplines today.
This art photograph, along with its companion piece, In the Distance, were selected to hang in the model of a new upscale condominium complex in Saratoga Springs, NY. You could have them in YOUR home!!!

Thank you, Liesl. She is wearing correct upper-level dressage attire. Her horse's bridle is traditional for Lipizzaners (the "dancing white stallions of Vienna"). Thank you for your compliments and L/F

What a beautiful capture, Carol! Lippizzaners are gorgeous, and this quiet moment between horse and rider as they wait to ride their test is just fantastic. F/L
