Love the silky texture of the water flowing over the moss-covered rocks at Thacher Park, outside Albany, NY. Thacher State Park is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment, one of the richest fossil-bearing formations in the world. The park, with its varied terrain including rock-strewn slopes, woodland and open fields, safeguards six miles of limestone cliff-face, and provides a marvelous panorama of the Hudson and Mohawk valleys, and Adirondack and Green mountains.

The Indian Ladder Trail (LOTS of steps, down & up) clings to the cliff wall; in the spring, you're likely to get wet as you walk under the main waterfall.

"Low & slow" were the settings used for this detailed photograph of one of the parks' small waterfalls.

A photograph is visual emotion, running the gamut from stark images of horror—to ‘snapshots in time’ commemorating special moments—to pieces that draw you into their world as if they were magnetized. These are the photographs that evoke a gasp, a “WOW!” or an “awwwww.” I consider myself a visual historian.
