Description
My father is a USMC Lt. Col., retired - veteran of WWII/Pacific and Korea. At 95, he is unable to visit this wonderful museum, so my sister and I have gone a couple times and taken scads of photos. I heartily encourage anyone planning a trip to DC or the Arlington area to take part of a day to visit. Numerous memorials and commemorative statues line paths, with benches available for resting and/or contemplating. Janet & I purchased a brick commemorating Pop's service - and had another one done for their front walk at a local IL brickyard. He smiles every time he walks outside!
A Monument to HONOR, COURAGE & COMMITMENT
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines--past, present, and future. Situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and under the command of Marine Corps University, the Museum's soaring design evokes the image of the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima and beckons visitors to this 120,000-square-foot structure. World-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action.

Thank you, Mona. It's an amazing building honoring our US Marines for the past three centuries.
