The State University of New York at Morrisville has a strong equine science program that offers courses in driving (in addition to riding). Scott Seymour, Belgian manager, driver, and faculty member, is a SUNY Morrisville 1992 graduate. He holds the distinction of being named “Top Reinsman” at the New York State Fair for three years in a row. The Morrisville hitch travels over 7,000 miles each year for competition or demonstration. The MCF wagon is a replica of a Studebaker, an old freight wagon first produced in 1852 in Henry and Clem Studebaker’s blacksmith shop in South Bend, Indiana.

I can hear the thunder of the horses, the jangle of the harnesses and the snorts of the Belgians as they pull with their heart. I know a friend of mine who would love this!
Carol Lynn Coronios replied:
Thank you, Karen. Yes, they surely thundered! Please feel free to share the link with your friend!

Thank you, Clare & Lesa. This was taken at Walnut Hill outside Rochester, NY - one of, if not THE, world's largest carriage driving competition. They added a 'commercial' division - and Scott did some amazing demonstrations with this hitch. Can't recall where y'all are from, but the World Percheron Congress will be in West Springfield, MA in October and they have a BIG six-horse division!
