Description
Three years ago, two gentlemen in southern Vermont decided to bring hops-growing back to its roots (pun intended?). Harvesting trees from their own land, they handcrafted tepees, typical of the 19th century agriculture, and use ropes to pull the hops (which grow to 20 feet tall) up and down.
They grow four basic varieties of hops, but specialize in heirloom hops. In a search for the oldest hops they could find (some over 100 years old), they recently located and brought home a native variety that pre-dates European settlers!
All this - and ORGANIC, too!
Don't these tepees with their hops ribbons look like maypoles?
