Description
Early in the morning before competition, grooms make sure their equine charges are sparkling clean. The hardest part is often ridding white markings of manure, mud, and grass stains. For some reason, a purple soap (many manufacturers) works best - providing you don't leave it on too long!

Interesting and brings back memories of my horse days!
Carol Lynn Coronios replied:
Thank you, Barbie! Yes, doesn't it! Hadn't seen Gentian Violet in YEARS when I found this groom working! LOTS of memories of purple hands.
Carol Lynn Coronios replied:
Actually, of course it was a purple SOAP - not Gentian Violet! He didn't need a purple sock! I just see purple around a horse and think GV. Perhaps it's NOT used anymore!
