Description
This colorful stingray has large bright blue spots on its oval, elongated disc and blue side-stripes along the tail. They are found in the Indo-West Pacific region, mostly from the Red Sea and East Africa to the Solomon Islands, Japan and Australia. They reach a maximum length about 27 inches.
This one happens to have been found in the California Academy of Sciences, in San Francisco, CA. The aquarium with rays and other fish is a huge attraction, fascinating children of all ages and providing exercise for the inhabitants.
Golden Gate Park, with its Academy of Sciences, deYoung Museum, Flower Conservatory, Tea House, Stoll Lake, street musicians, and impromptu Frisbee games is a must-see for those visiting San Francisco. Plan for multi-day exploration. And when you've enjoyed the nature of the park, cross Stanyan Street and stroll into The Haight!
